Get your facts right! Let's come together and destroy all the fake news in the world!
I developed a fact-checker website, aimed at assisting users in distinguishing between true and fake news. This short but impactful project was made possible through my dedicated efforts and the invaluable guidance of my supportive lecturer at UMS. Together, we worked tirelessly to create a reliable platform that empowers users to make informed decisions by verifying the authenticity of news sources. It was an enriching experience, and I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the fight against misinformation.
This project has used some of techinique and algorithm such as image to text converter (OCR) and Rapid Automatic Keyword Extraction algorithm (RAKE) in order to let this project works. The user can enter their claims inside the textbox or even upload an image and let the application check for the fact after the submit button is clicked.
After the text/image has analyzed, the result will be shown on the result page with the percentage of the authenticity of the news and the post of the news where the user can click in to have more details for the news as shown in the image below.
I am immensely proud to share that this project has received multiple awards in various competitions. While it may not have secured the top or first place, the recognition it garnered is a testament to the project’s quality and impact. I am grateful for the experience gained and the honor of collaborating with my esteemed professor. Looking ahead, I eagerly anticipate the opportunity to continue working alongside my professor, striving for even greater achievements and aiming to secure top positions and accolades in future projects. Together, we will pursue excellence and push the boundaries of innovation.
